Manager, ACT For Environment

Position Summary
This role will be responsible for co-managing the ACT For Environment portfolio and lead dealflow sourcing, due diligence, IC preparation and portfolio management for owned investment thesis areas. Key Responsibilities 

  • Sourcing and Due Diligence: Build a robust sourcing pipeline of high potential tech-first solutions for owned thesis areas, manage the due diligence process end to end and make the investment case to the Director and subsequently the IC. 
  • Portfolio Management: Leading portfolio operations on owned thesis areas w.r.t. monitoring and evaluation, grantee onboarding, impact reporting and assessing grant performance through quarterly cadences with the founders. 
  • Portfolio Support: Support grantees on a range of strategic and operational areas including business advisory, fundraising support and connections across topics commercial validation, go-to-market strategy, identifying distribution channels, outcomes measurement  and more.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Design and execute collaborative programs, including sector specific challenges (eg. India Clean Air Challenge), collective action initiatives (Green Startup Pledge) as well as cross-sectional initiatives with other ACT verticals.
  • Donor Management: Support the vertical prerogatives on donor engagement including regular communication and reporting.
  • Ecosystem Engagement: Establishing relationships with the larger ecosystem of funders and sector experts to refine the investment thesis, fuel the sourcing pipeline and spot industry trends to sharpen key strategic areas of investment focus. 

The Ideal Candidate
You’re perfect for this job if you have:

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a challenging, high growth and/or entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, organisational skills and operational capabilities
  • Strong communication skills (including written and presentation skills)
  • Ability to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders internally and externally
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a small organisation setting, where collaboration, teamwork and resourcefulness are highly valued

Location

  • Hybrid; based in either Bengaluru, Delhi or Mumbai

Prior experience in venture capital/impact investing will be an added advantage.
